Patriot Golf Day Tournament
North Shore Golf Course and the Members club are sponsoring a tournament on Labor Day: Sunday, September 5th, 2010 – Shotgun start time yet to be determined.
This tournament is to raise money for the families of our fallen veterans. The tournament is part of a nationwide effort called Patriot Golf Day.
Last year North Shore and its members raised over $3,000 and we hope to meet or exceed that number this year.
If you wish to play in the tournament please call North Shore Pro Shop 253-927-1375. The entry fee is $80 and includes golf, cart, and lunch. We will have cash prizes for low net, low gross, closest to the pin, and longest drive.
If you wish to sponsor a hole, the cost is $100. Each sponsor will receive a certificate good for 2 free rounds of golf plus cart. Please email Chuck Bertrand to sign up for sponsorship.
Last year we gathered on the practice putting green to honor and hear about some of our fallen veterans. We heard stories by active duty soldiers and veterans about their fallen comrades while in service to their country, and others told by family members who sponsored a hole in their memory. I must tell you there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. When we returned to the club house to award the prizes, every single winner donated their winnings back to the cause. This should tell you a lot about the kind of people you will be playing with in this tournament.
If you can’t make it to NorthShore but you would still like to golf and support the families of the fallen soldiers you can find local golf courses who are participating in the event.
